While we are not currently requiring masking at camp, we ask that you please pack masks along in case your camper develops any symptoms during their week at camp. We will also be monitoring the community spread and will adjust the masking policy accordingly.

2022 Summer Camp Update
Summer Camp 2022 will look a lot like Summer Camp 2021!
Certainly, some things will be different from what we’ve grown accustomed to in the past. However, the core of what we do at camp will remain the same. Camp will continue to be a place of faith formation where God’s love is experienced and shared by all. We will form a welcoming and inclusive community that celebrates our gifts and the diversity of creation. And we will leave from our week at camp, equipped and encouraged to return to our families and friends with a passion for loving God and our neighbor.
It is highly encouraged that all campers be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and up to date on all boosters

LCC Sponsored Events & Retreats
Because we were able to effectively offer safe programming this summer with the COVID protocols we had in place, we are opting to continue utilizing those for our offered retreats. We are requiring all participants to complete the 14 day Pre-Camp Health Screening Form with symptom and temperature monitoring. In the event that someone doesn’t have this completed, a negative COVID test within 3 days of arrival for the retreat would be acceptable. If all members of the retreat group can provide proof of vaccination, then the group may operate unmasked while indoors, regardless of group size. If any members are not vaccinated, then the group must be masked while indoors.

Greetings LCC campers and families!
Over the past year, we have all learned much about COVID-19 and how to best keep ourselves and loved ones as safe as possible. Here at camp, the health and well-being of our campers continues to be a top priority.
In light of the upcoming changes (on June 28th) to Pennsylvania’s mask mandate policy, we write to you with updates of our own. Because the vast majority of camp program takes place out of doors, and because evidence shows the risk of transmission out of doors is very low, campers will not be required to wear masks while outside, regardless of vaccination status.
The relaxation of this masking policy means we must continue to be firm on our other mitigation strategies. Campers are still required to complete the 14-day precamp health screening and present that form upon arrival at camp. Failure to present proof of precamp screening means you will not be permitted to attend camp, so please don’t forget this important step. Camp staff will continue to monitor themselves and campers for COVID symptoms daily and camp will continue to use the cohort model of camping whenever possible.
The Center for Disease Control still recommends mask usage when indoors for groups of unvaccinated campers, so all campers and staff will still need to pack masks for the possibility of indoor programming (including campers/parents/staff during registration check-in). We are grateful that conditions continue to move in a positive direction and appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping all God’s children safe at Kirchenwald and Nawakwa this summer.

Plans for Summer Camp 2021 are underway!
What will it look like? To be honest, we do not fully know yet. We continue to receive updates and research findings from the American Camp Association. We continue to communicate with our COVID-19 task force. We continue to collaborate with other camps. We do not know all of the answers for Summer 2021 – at least, not yet.
However, we DO know this:
No matter what happens, camp is still going to be camp! You’re still going to get to form awesome relationships with other campers and our incredible summer staff. You’re still going to get to spend your time making amazing memories and having the most fun ever! And (most importantly) you’ll still get to experience the life-giving hope of Jesus Christ and be built up in your faith.
