Update on the GivingPlus® Program

What's Changing

Funds for the 2009 GivingPlus® program have been fully disbursed, resulting in more than $67 million to Lutheran organizations from Thrivent Financial and its members. The program is over for 2009, and it will not be continued in 2010 due to low participation among members. As a membership organization, our goal is to offer programs that appeal to a broad range of members, and with fewer than 5% of our members participating each year, the GivingPlus Program hasn't met that goal. Just a small number of members have been directing a significant portion of Thrivent Financial's charitable funds.

What's Coming

Thrivent Choice, an exciting new program launching in the spring of 2010, is designed to increase the number of Thrivent Financial members involved in directing charitable funds to Lutheran congregations and organizations. All organizations enrolled in the GivingPlus Program can enroll in Thrivent Choice.
